From ancient times to the present day, historians of philosophy have criticized, reformulated, and confirmed various theses regarding the implications that the category of nature has had in the thinking of ancient, medieval and modern philosophers. Despite the difficulties involved in such an extensive historical investigation, what is evident about the category of nature is its plurivocal character; since the concept, as a philosophical category, has undergone multiple transformations throughout time. In the present work we will try to shed light on these transformations within the framework of a historical and philosophical reading.
