MARINELARENA, Magalí Ludmila. Pre colonial india from a historiographic perspective 1757-1858. Rev. Esc. Hist. [online]. 2021, vol.20, n.1, pp.00-00. ISSN 1669-9041.
Considering the great diversity of studies and debates about colonial India, what differentiates this work from previous ones is that it seeks to delve into the period prior to 1858, that is, the one that has the British East India Company as administrator and exploiter of the resources of most of the Indian territory. This will be carried out by means of a historiographic analysis of two opposite currents: Nationalism (discourse / ideology / historians) and the Subaltern Studies Group with the aim of being able to reconstruct the period between 1757 and 1858. In the analysis we will seek to find what place these groups occupy according to each historiographic line, which political and social actors are present, what are the main differences between the two currents, among others aspects.
