ROMERO DE PABLOS, Ana. Political power and technological power: Spanish nuclear development (1950-1975). Rev. iberoam. cienc. tecnol. soc. [online]. 2012, vol.7, n.21, pp.141-162. ISSN 1850-0013.
This paper analyzes the influence of nuclear development in Spain, an influence that went far beyond the scientific and technological area. The arrival in Spain of the first reactors affected the nuclear physics of the time, its institutionalization and the scientific and technological developments that were put in place after their arrival. But politicians, diplomats, companies and other administrative managers who participated in these processes also had to innovate, test new forms of consensus and reach agreements. Politics and power were important in making decisions that were of purely technical appearance. With the country's nuclear development, scientists, politicians and business leaders had to come together and help to articulate the Spanish State during the decades of 1960 and 1970.
