PONCE, Mariano Julio et al. Descompactadores angulados laterales: Eficiencia de distintos diseños y configuraciones espaciales. Cienc. suelo [online]. 2017, vol.35, n.1, pp.79-93. ISSN 1850-2067.

Soil compaction process is one of the most common ways of physical degradation that occurs through densification and porosity reduction associated with changes in soil structure. Generally it is associated to an increase in mechanical strength and an hydraulic conductivity reduction. Facing the mentioned issues there are alternatives like mechanization and the use of subsoiling implements with different design features. The aim was to evaluate the soil compaction reduction efficiency of two shanks with rigid designs, curved bentleg (CB) and straight bentleg (SB) on a Typic Argiudoll, in two configurations: same action plan (SAP) and different action plan (DAP). The evaluated variables were: penetration resistance (PR) and trench cross-sectional area (TA). TA for CB obtained 40% more than the SB with significant differences. The PR results were more variable, but both shank designs in the two alternative configurations differed from the control situation. Soil tillage by bentleg subsoiler has a strong lateral symmetry with regard to the point position, similar to straight shanks.
