SAC PRESIDENT’S LETTER

The Challenge of Undertaking a Major Task

El desafío de iniciar una gran tarea

Claudio Majul1

1 President of the Argentine Society of Cardiology

All beginnings pose challenges that should be faced with calm, energy, and passion to turn them into achievements; I am convinced that this is what history and -why not- my experience gained over the years dictate. The beginning of 2023 is full of challenges that certainly include our Society; in addition to the characteristics mentioned above, in this particular case we must face those challenges together to achieve the desired success.

The goal of this administration is that our Society be more inclusive, with more opportunities for the different Districts to grow on their own; therefore, initiatives are jointly supported by Areas and Committees.

At the Congress of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), held together with the WHF’s World Congress of Cardiology, the SAC was once again represented by speakers from various areas of cardiology; a former president of this Society is the current ACC Argentina Chapter Governor.

We celebrated women’s month in Puerto Madero with an excellent orchestra and a brief speech by Dr. Salvati and myself on the Woman’s Bridge highlighting the importance of cardiovascular health in women, with enthusiastic approval among passersby.

We have received several invitations to participate in congresses and consolidate ties in different regions of the American continent. At each of those meetings, SAC representatives will exchange theoretical and practical concepts on cardiology in each region.

We need to achieve success in each of the challenges, which involve many goals set at the beginning of our Board of Directors, such as accomplishing a successful administration, the organization of a congress that will be well-grounded in theory and very useful in practice, as well as more articles published in our beloved Journal. To reach our goal, we need the effort of our entire Society.
