One of the ways to promote discussions about the construction process of science in the classroom is through the use of historical-philosophical approaches. Inspired by a proposal known as three axes, revised and expanded in this study, we developed an educational intervention in order to creating subsidies to identify ideas about the construction process of science that could be highlighted and problematized by students in the study of atomic models. For this, the work is carried out in two stages: the first one consists of a literature research on the atomic models proposed in the late 19th century to the 20th century. The second stage was a case study that used action research qualitative methodology in an educational intervention in a high school classroom in the chemistry discipline. The results show, among other observations, that the main ideas raised by the students stood around the relationship between science and the socio-cultural context and about the scientist's work dynamics, so that they could problematize the image of the scientist as an isolated genius or neutral science.
