GALLEGO, Alfredo et al. Nuevas tecnologías y viejos problemas: TIC para mejorar la comprensión en sanidad del agua. Rev. iberoam. tecnol. educ. educ. tecnol. [online]. 2016, n.18, pp.51-59. ISSN 1851-0086.

In the urban area of Buenos Aires, from which come most of our students, there is good quality mains water. So the water problem is not part of his personal experience. The aim of our work was to present the issue through strategies that confront students with real-world situations, both using ICT. In the study of microbiological contamination we have worked with the case method. Students must analyze ten cases, which should be solved and presented. The use of ICT enables enrich cases with images and videos, and provide a discussion forum. For the study of chemical contamination each student brought a sample from his home in which nitrate was analyzed. 140 samples were analyzed and the results were georeferenced on a map on Google maps. 92.1% of students considered appropriate to address the contents through a case study, while the analysis of nitrate was rated as very good or excellent by 89.5% of respondents. The use of both strategies allowed presenting the content in a real context and analyzing other aspects that are usually left out of the discussion.
