ERAA±A BONACCHI, Noelia Daniela. An analysis of a collaborative experience in the teaching of Phonetics mediated by an institutional Virtual Learning Environment. Rev. iberoam. tecnol. educ. educ. tecnol. [online]. 2021, n.28, pp.64-69. ISSN 1851-0086.

This paper presents and analyses an instance of collaborative work mediated by VLE as a didactic strategy for teaching/learning English Phonetics. This activity was solved by eighteen second-year students pursuing a university degree in English literary translation during social distancing in Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. With the aim of providing the foundations for future collaborative experiences in the teaching/learning of Narrow transcription, we firstly present the theoretical framework behind our decisions from a Constructivist point of view. Secondly, we outline the activity itself reflecting on some important concepts every teacher should consider when creating a new activity such as students’ decision-making processes and the building of Rapport. Thirdly, we present the data collected during the process and once students had handed in the project. Finally, we analyse this data using a quali-quantitative method. We conclude that this instance of collaborative work has been successful. We also mention some possibilities for improvement.
