DOTTA, Silvia; PIMENTEL, Edson; SILVEIRA, Ismar  e  BRAGA, Juliana. Opportunities and Challenges in the (Post-)Pandemic Scenario to Transform Technology-Mediated Education. Rev. iberoam. tecnol. educ. educ. tecnol. [online]. 2021, n.28, pp.157-167. ISSN 1851-0086.

With no face-to-face classes, the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic imposed, for the continuity of teaching-learning processes, the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the form of a set of tools, through the internet. In an emergency, teachers and students were urged to use computers and cell phones, through virtual platforms, for learning experiences. The expected transformation of education, from the massive transmissive model to active learning, could finally become a reality with the support of technologies. However, existing but surreptitious and ignored vulnerabilities have been revealed and highlighted. It is noteworthy that many people do not have access to a computer or the internet with sufficient speed and volume of access. Many teachers do not have adequate pedagogical knowledge to use these tools in their educational practices. Even so, many experiences of using ICT in Education have occurred in this pandemic scenario in the form of emergency remote education. Plans for a post-pandemic already include hybrid education. This essay aims to discuss aspects to be considered in the context of technology-mediated education, even in an emergency scenario. It is an invitation to reflect on pedagogical practices and the possibilities of mediating learning using ICT.

Palavras-chave : Emergency remote education; Technology-mediated education; Pedagogical practices.
