DI DOMENICANTONIO, Rossana  e  LANGONI, Laura. Coordination of massive Mathematics subjects in the Faculty of Engineering of the UNLP during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rev. iberoam. tecnol. educ. educ. tecnol. [online]. 2021, n.28, pp.168-173. ISSN 1851-0086.

In this work, the reorganization of two Mathematics subjects of the Faculty of Engineering of the National University of La Plata is related to the unforeseen situation of the COVID-19 pandemic: Mathematics for Engineering and Mathematics A. These subjects are taken by all students of the institution. For this reason, they are the subjects with the highest number of enrolled students and teachers assigned to their dictation (2315 and 100 respectively in this period). Classes are usually held in person with classroom-workshop methodology and students have the possibility of promoting with partial evaluations. On March 16, the Board of Directors suspended the face-to-face classes and indicated to continue virtually. It describes how the transition from face-to-face courses to virtual courses was implemented. Different aspects of the coordination of the subjects that had to be taken into account in order to implement this change are reported: contacting students, establishing new calendars, implementing virtual classrooms, instructing teachers and students on technological tools, defining partial evaluations that contemplate promotion. The main objective of these strategies is centered on the retention of students, the quality of learning and the accreditation of the subject.
