VIANO, Hugo; ZAºA±IGA, Mariela  e  ROSAS, María V.. Academic accessibility in Higher Education: Online teaching during lockdown period of COVID-19 pandemic. Rev. iberoam. tecnol. educ. educ. tecnol. [online]. 2021, n.28, pp.221-229. ISSN 1851-0086.

In our country, legislation referring specifically to Higher Education for people with disabilities, establishes that the State must guarantee physical, communicational and academic accessibility for them. This group includes people with long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory deficiencies that, by interacting with various barriers, may prevent their full and effective participation in society, on equal terms with others. About academic accessibility, one of the possible barriers is having study materials in inaccessible formats, thus highlighting the importance of a consistent elaboration of them, with the role of new technology being central in this situation. In addition, it is important to highlight the relevance of using free licenses for their publication. In this sense, a reformulated teacher training proposal was implemented and adapted to the current context of pandemic, with the idea of strengthening the performance of teachers in academic accessibility and online practices. Likewise, the digitization of content can improve both academic and communicational accessibility, enhancing teaching action and contributing to the success of a student-centered training activity.

Palavras-chave : Higher education; Academic accessibility; Teacher training; Content digitization.
