LESCANO, Adriana; PUY, Jesica e PUY, Andrés. From classroom to virtual education: Teaching Mathematics in a Pandemic. Rev. iberoam. tecnol. educ. educ. tecnol. [online]. 2021, n.28, pp.294-302. ISSN 1851-0086.
The global COVID-19 pandemic has addressed through the implementation of aggressive public health measures that have disturbed educational systems, enforcing university closure to mitigate transmission. With the lives of thousands of students disrupted by this disease outbreak, the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional Facultad Regional Rafaela (UTN FRRa) has quickly adopted online learning to continue the educational process during the isolation period. The UTN FRRa community has responded to this new scenario by redesigning class material, proposing innovative teaching practices with digital tools, and rethinking the evaluation process. This paper presents a descriptive study of actions implemented by five different subjects of the Basics Department of Engineering. Also, it exposes a statistical analysis of students’ perceptions of one of the courses. Results confirm that the transition to online education went successful. The lessons learned can be useful for subjects dictated in the following semester.
