PERDOMO, Bexi. Scientific publications of Latin American countries on education before the COVID-19: Systematic review. Rev. iberoam. tecnol. educ. educ. tecnol. [online]. 2021, n.28, pp.344-351. ISSN 1851-0086.

This systematic review of literature was conducted aiming to describe the scientific production of Latin American countries on Education in times of COVID-19 pandemic published in SciELO. Search and inclusion criteria were established to ensure that the evidence to be analyzed really responded to the proposed objective, thus eliminating possible biases. In the initial search, 85 results were obtained. Then, the screening process began, strictly following the corresponding protocols to obtain the analyzable evidence (n=14). Quantitative analysis was performed for the bibliometric characterization of the evidence. Secondly, qualitative analysis of the content was achieved to detect the categories according to the patterns observed in the articles. The quantitative analysis showed trends in type of study, country, and language. Brazil stood out in terms of the number of publications. 50% of the articles were published in journals indexed on Scopus. The qualitative analysis allowed the identification of two categories: teaching (which presented two subcategories) and management. The conclusion is that scientific production is low and that it is necessary to expand the number and variables of study in order to document the Latin American experience in education in the face of the pandemic.
