Taking as a starting point the distinctions between diverse psychoanalytical conceptions of hysteria, this paper develops the essence of Freudian elaboration on this clinical category; in order to highlight the differences with the way Lacan defines it. Despite Lacan recuperates lots of Freudian concepts around hysteria; his point of view sensibly differs on this matter from psychoanalysis father's.
