Objective: The aim of the study is to compare the degree of satisfaction with body image, eating habits, behaviours and attitudes in young women and men from high schools. Method: The sample included 454 adolescents, young women and men, from high schools in Buenos Aires, aged between 13 and 18 years. The subjects completed a Sociodemographic questionnaire, the Eating Disorder Inventory-2 (EDI-2) and the Figure Scale (FS). A physician measured height, weight and calculated body mass index. Results: Young women show significantly higher score in Drive for thinness, Bulimia, Body dissatisfaction, Ineffectiveness and Interoceptive awareness than the men. Also, a significantly higher proportion of young women show inadecuate behavious to try to maintain or lose weight and dissatisfaction with their body image. Discussion: The results of this study were consistent with other studies that indicate that the young women are different to the men about eating attitudes and the degree of satisfaction with body image.
