The Juruna, Tupian people of the Xingu Indigenous Park, observe star constellations in the sky. They are related to knowledge about the environment in the village, and the passing of the year. Knowledge about animals and their customs, of importance for environmental movements and for hunting and fishing, are pointed by stars, in their appearances in the sky, in the morning heliacal sunrise, in general. Today, this knowledge may be modified and even partly forgotten by younger generations, exposed to long-term climate change. The Xingu has been suffering with large-scale pollution with pesticides, and burning of larger and larger areas, experiencing real fires annually. River and forest have changed, animals have changed and diminished. In a game of senses, would the words for sky and climate should point to a metaphor?
