Psoriasis is a pathology that not only affects the skin but also other organs. There is scientific evidence that relates psoriasis as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease: dyslipidemia, hypertension and diabetes mellitus 2.

Objective: To know the most frequent comorbidities in the military personnel with Psoriasis.

Material and methods: Observational, descriptive, retrospective cross-sectional study. 66 patients participated, sociodemographic data and diagnosed comorbidities were obtained from the medical records; study period January-December 2016.

Results: 60.61% were ≥ 60 years old, 100% male, 45.45% military technicians, 28.79% senior officers and 71.2% retired personnel. 95.50% had plaque type psoriasis and 71.20% had a disease evolution time between 0 to 10 years. Comorbidities: 75.76% decrease in high density lipoproteins, 54.55% high plasma fasting glucose, 43.90% hypertriglyceridemia, 39.40% arterial hypertension, 30.30% obesity, 28.80% diabetes mellitus 2 and 10.60% psoriatic arthritis.

Conclusions: Psoriasis in military personnel is more frequent in people over 60 years of age, in technicians and senior officers, more frequently in personnel in retirement. The most frequent comorbidities are the decrease of high density lipoproteins, increase in fasting plasma glucose and hypertriglyceridemia.
