This paper tangentially reviews the communitarian critique to the liberal notion of citizenship and its limits. It remarks the need to politicize citizenship and its conflictive nature. It stresses the importance of thinking citizenship in terms of antagonism as a way to foster political participation and democratic loyalty. This is complemented with scattered notes on Argentina's bicentenary.
