In this article I analyze some Scotus’ texts about the sacrament of confession which allow to understand his position on personal identity, common good and personal responsibility. These concepts are relevant for the ontological and ethical problems. Therefore, using an analytical approach, I will explain the connection between confessional secret and common good, and I will try to present the Scotistic innovation in the analysis of this problem, which was very popular in the Scholastic.
