Abstract The present work examines some of the inter ventions issued in the run up to national elections of 2001, regarding the so-called «voto bronca». One may detect how some see in this phenomenon a problem that can affect the political system and to make way for authoritarian options, in other cases, however, the perspective is quite different, as is shown here the opportunity to introduce changes in the whole political edifice.
