MANZO, Alejandro Gabriel. Argentina y el FMI en el escenario inmediatamente posterior a la crisis del 2001: analizando sus relaciones en el canje de la deuda externa 2003-2005. Estud. - Cent. Estud. Av., Univ. Nac. Córdoba [online]. 2012, n.28, pp.73-93. ISSN 1852-1568.
Since the eighties the International Monetary Fund (IMF) appears in the center of the power relationships that give form to the structure of the international financial market. Its agreements, in which are delineated a set of neoliberal policies that the authorities of an indebt country must fulfill in order to receive external support, appears as a practically unavoidable requirement at the moment of activate an external debt renegotiation process. The present article reconstructs the Argentinean renegotiation process of 2003- 2005 focusing on the strategic mobilization that the national government made of his economic resources with the aim of achieve that the external creditors accept his exchange offer without having -to these effects- the approval of the IMF. We pre-assume that this task will allow us to think, in a major degree of abstraction, about the particular characteristics that the Argentinean State has acquired in the ex-post 2001 scenario. We use, as methodological corpus of data, a pertinent sample of 89 articles of the «Clarín newspaper» in which appears historical information about the above mentioned process.
