The paper reconstructs the socio-political link between the governments of Néstor Kirchner and Cristina Fernández and the land transport unions during the period 2003-2014. These unions have historically shown a large capacity for social mobilization, for offering political-electoral support and for paralyzing the flow of the economy. Due to this capacity and the needs of the budding neo-developmentalist model, these governments managed the link with these organizations by activating different logics of political representation, according to the changing conjunctures and correlations of forces. Based on the debate on contemporary theories of political representation, the text develops this hypothesis and proposes a typology to explain this case study. The paper concludes that during Kirchnerism two types of representation regimes that involved the transporters, were configured: one between 2004-2011 in which the corporate, party, populist and parliamentary logics were articulated, and another between 2012-2014 in which the regime was practically weakened, and a partisan logic that led to the breakdown of that alliance.
