MASTRANDREA, Aldana  e  PEREZ, María Inés. Representaciones sociales del riesgo hídrico: Análisis Crítico del Discurso periodístico en la cuenca del arroyo Napostá Grande (Bahía Blanca, Argentina). Rev. Univ. geogr. [online]. 2022, vol.31, n.1, pp.19-22. ISSN 1852-4265.

The study of the representations produced by the press constitutes an enriching perspective of analysis to know the main problems considered significant, the strategies adopted to communicate them and the resources used in the process. The objective is to analyze the social representations of water risk created by the written press and digital journalism in the basin of Napostá Grande stream basin, in the southwest of the province of Buenos Aires. For this purpose, headlines, flyers, news and editorials from three newspapers in the city of Bahía Blanca related to historical flood events in the 1930s and 1940s and headlines of recent events, both of excess and of deficit of water, occurred from the 2000s onwards were considered. The information obtained was analyzed through the technique of Critical Discourse Analysis. The results made it possible to establish that the journalistic discourse focuses on the central theme of the benefits/problems of rainfall and on the consequences resulting from these phenomena in the daily lives of the of urban and rural inhabitants in terms of the alternation of wet and dry periods.
