This paper analyzes the way a transfer of past traumatic experience involves two texts by Manuel Rivas in which acquires prominence oral discourse. The Spanish Civil War and its consequences are incorporated into Os libros arden mal and As voces baixas narrative with special emphasis on the generations that did not live those years. The convergence between orality and literacy are fertile ground for considering the inclusion of long-neglected voices because of forced silences and because of the suppression of truths that took a long time to become visible.
