The purpose of this article is the investigation of the amorous and expressive code accomplished by Felipe Benítez Reyes in the early stage of his poetry. In the text the image of the woman and its representation is modified by the poet because of his reinterpretation of Petrarca and European classical writers. The individual female portrait becomes a collective portrait of women of the 1980s.
