The Minimal Number of Samples (NMM) was established for different environments and edaphic variables in the Chaco Árido of Córdoba. In environments homogeneous in vegetation and history of use in Pedanía Chancaní Córdoba (1-Forest of Aspidosperma quebracho-blanco, 2-Forest of Prosopis flexuosa, 3-Forest of P. flexuosa under moderate cattle-deforest pressure, 4-Mixed forest under moderate cattle-deforest pressure, 5-Mixed forest deforest, 6-Degraded Forest of P. flexuosa under high cattle-deforest pressure), soil samples were obtained and edaphic variables were determined. Sodium concentration and salinity didn't show normal distribution and require a systematic sampling. The rest of the variables were classified by their variation coefficient (CV). Bulk density, pH, real density, porosity and Carbon/Nitrogen ratio showed low variation (CV50%) variation; their estimation possess great uncertainty and require an elevated NMM. Organic carbon and total nitrogen showed a middle variation. Cation interchange capacity and phosphorous showed low variation in 1 and 2 environments, but medium variation in the rest of environments. We conclude that NMM varies according to the environment and the variable under study. For that reason, is important to consider both factors when designing a sampling method.
