Based on a qualitative study, this article analyzes the relevance of the PRO party’s early access to the State in the development of its activism in the City of Buenos Aires. It examines the formation of youth activist groups within public administration agencies as part of the informal competition among party leaders. It shows how working at the local government has shaped some of these activists’ most distinctive repertoires and the frames by which they make sense of their political practices and careers, as well as their views on the State and on politics as a profession.
