DI IORIO, Osvaldo  e  TURIENZO, Paola. Campo de Mayo: un área natural histórica en los alrededores de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina, que merece ser declarada reserva natural. Rev. Mus. Argent. Cienc. Nat. [online]. 2015, vol.17, n.1, pp.13-42. ISSN 1853-0400.

Campo de Mayo is a military settlement created in 1901, north from Buenos Aires city, Argentina. Four plants, two bees, one beetle and two amphibians were mentioned in literature for this area between 1901 and 1993. Also in this interval time, only two other species of beetles were captured in the place: one Chrysomelidae (Cassidinae), at the beginning of XX century, and one Scarabaeidae (Cetoniinae), in 1966. As a result of the surveys between 1978 and 2012, a total of 208 species of insects, one pseudoescorpion, 12 spiders, and 11 vertebrates were mentioned in literature since 1993 until 2014. New records of 55 vascular plants, 56 insects, 3 arachnids, and 12 vertebrates are added now. Previous propositions and the actual knowledge of its flora and fauna, as well as its state of conservation, reinforce the present proposal of a designation as a natural reserve.
