CORADEGHINI, Andrea; QUARTINO, Maria Liliana; GARCIA, Renato Andrés  e  YANEZ, Agustina. The Lichen collection of the National Herbarium of Cellular Plants (BA) and its type specimens. Rev. Mus. Argent. Cienc. Nat. [online]. 2023, vol.25, n.2, pp.259-274. ISSN 1853-0400.  http://dx.doi.org/10.22179/revmacn.25.802.

The lichen collection of the National Herbarium of Cellular Plants of the Argentine Museum of Natural Sciences “Bernardino Rivadavia” (BA-MACN) has a high historical value due to the antiquity of many of its specimens, which date from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, as well as for the relevance of its collectors and identifiers. It houses a total of 2,795 specimens of lichens of which 2300 cor respond to all the provinces of Argentina, with the Patagonian and central provinces being the best represented. From the recent process of computerization and subsequent incorporation into the “Aurora” database belonging to the MACN, the collection was organized and digitized. As the culmination of this process, a complete review of the collection and systematization of the information according to its composition, collectors and identifiers is presented here, with special emphasis on the collections from Argentina and the type specimens. It is expected to contribute to the communication of the collection and encourage its consultation and exchange with other institutions and specialists.
