TERRANEO, Sebastián. Derecho canónico indiano: una hipótesis sobre su naturaleza y contenido. Rev. hist. derecho [online]. 2013, n.46. ISSN 1853-1784.
In general, the studies dedicated to Indian Canon Law include in this discipline both rules produced by the royal authority as others promulgated by the mandate of the Church. The object of such work is to attempt to dilucidate the nature and content of this matter for what is necessary, in first place, to analyze the legal-canonical entity of the real rules in ecclesiastic subject, before considering the canonic validity of them. The reflection on the regulations of American Church requires to consider the existence of an ecclesiastic Indian law and to determine that the Indian canonic legislation, as a local application of the universal Canon Law, is composed, exclusively, by the norms produced by the eclesial authority without contituting a mixed discipline - canonical and secular.
