The complexity of the architectural work and its generative process consent us to suppose that architects and designers validate their own ideas using not only the deductive and inductive reasoning but also the abductive and hypothetical inference.

The didactics of architecture today leans on the competences of the teacher to stimulate and develop the processes of thinking and imagining of the student, as well as the personal search for their own design process.

This research explores architects and designer’s thinking process, their use of logic-illogic and how formal logic orders and coexists with illogical reasoning in the design process.
