Housing problems have recovered a space in the governmental agenda. Even though the actions and works of new housing executed during the last decade have reached indexes almost without precedents in the whole argentine territory, there are still population sections which haven't been reached by any housing program as yet. Here, we introduce a study with an empirical base, to make a critical analysis of the housing policies in Argentina implemented from the different levels of government during the last decade. The present essay intends to consider the state aptitude to give response to the housing needs of resident populations in "slums".
