DA SILVA, Rafaela Carolina  e  FORMENTINI CALDAS, Rosângela. Hybrid public libraries in the brazilian context. Palabra clave [online]. 2017, vol.6, n.2, pp.00-00. ISSN 1853-9912.

The social transformations derived from the use of Information and Communication Technologies in the institutional environments, in which there is an action of the professional of the information, reflect the different perspectives evidenced of the communities with which they work. From this perspective, it should be taken into account that in the Brazilian scenario there are few studies about hybrid libraries, which reflects the practice of everyday life in these institutions; if these practices were a constant one could record ideal benefits for public libraries. The objective of this research is to make a comparison of the performances of the existing hybrid libraries in the Brazilian context and, in this way, to highlight the difference of hybrid cultural groups in the Brazilian localities. The multiple case study method was used in the libraries: BSP / Sao Paulo, BNB / Brasilia and BHEGS / Bahia. Brazilian public hybrid libraries have a high potential to articulate proposals defending new positions and conceptions of dissemination of information. Therefore, community development strategies that wish to adopt the hybrid model for their libraries should be oriented toward access to information, through public policies, technologies and organizational structures as a contribution to the citizenship of individuals who socially interact in their locations
