In the last decades, different studies have shown the existence of a moral dimension in the appropriation of the historical national narratives by students. At the same time, other researchers have put forward that the ideological Belief in a Just World (BJW) operates in individual's comprehension of social processes by blaming the victims of injustices, contributing to the maintenance of the status quo. The aim of this paper is to analyze the relation between historical narratives of the "Conquest of America" in a sample of university students from Buenos Aires (N = 404). The participants answered a self report questionnaire that included an image referred to the "Conquest of America". Their moral judgments about that historical process were inquired based on their responses to the image. Besides, the participants answered a Just World Scale. The obtained results indicated that participants who have lower levels on the BJW considered that historical process as unjust, although there were not significant differences in the judgments referred to its violence. It is concluded that the BJW would intervene in the interpretations of the "Conquest of America" by blaming the indigenous for the violence exerted upon them.
