CENTENO, MATÍAS  e  GARRIDO, MARÍA. El trayecto socio-técnico de las juventudes en el agro: las tecnologías digitales como vehículo para el desarrollo rural sostenible. Propuesta educativa (Online) [online]. 2023, n.59, pp.91-104. ISSN 1995-7785.

From a perspective of youth as socio-technical actors in agriculture, in its broad spectrum, the article presents an analysis of the role played by the appropriation of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the social, economic and cultural development of young people in the agricultural sector. The paper uses digitalism as an alternative lens to analyse the issues surrounding young people, youth and rurality, in order to visualise and understand some of the socio-cultural transformations and diverse configurations that contemporary agriculture can acquire in a context of digital acceleration driven by the recent Pandemic. In order to particularise the problem and empirically discover the theoretical categories addressed, three case studies are used, located on the American continent and in Europe: the State of Washington, in the northwest of the United States, the province of San Luis, in the centre-west of Argentina, and the region of Catalonia, in the north-east of Spain. Testimonies and field findings reveal contemporary youthful ways of experiencing the countryside, while at the same time uncovering renewed modes of management and new agrarian subjectivities.
