From a multidisciplinary approach, the article delves into some articulations between urban spatialities production, communication/culture dynamics and contemporary artistic practices in middle cities and towns in the province of Buenos Aires. It focuses on a series of artistic and socio-aesthetic manifestations developed in Tandil and Olavarría during the first decades of the 21st century that through their procedures, materials and/or locations refer to the socio-productive changes of the of these localities while linking the construction of meaning over the past with the mobilization of emerging demands of social conflict in the present. The methodological strategy employed is qualitative and combines techniques and procedures of social research and research through artistic practice.
