Since the comeback of the democracy in Argentina, a strong presence of uses of the proposals of the French philosopher Michel Foucault in the educational field accompanied the period of more intense circulation of his elaborations and of his more regular insertion in the local academic field. Especially significant since the 1990s, this reference makes it possible to read theoretical-political transformations in relation to the school and its practices, which influenced the criticism of the institutions and acted in the framework of their deterioration as a result of neoliberal policies. This article presents the results of a research in intellectual history on the reception of Foucault's proposals in the local educational field. First, some aspects of its circulation are placed in the eighties and nineties. Secondly, the article describes certain uses of the Foucauldian toolbox that, in Argentina in recent decades, are linked to the notion of governmentality and from which it is possible to notice its effects on ways of thinking education, between the state and the market. In this way, the article contributes to the reconstruction of the general plot of the circulation and the reception of the proposals of the French philosopher in the local educational field.
