The teaching of History in the decades prior to the first centenary (1880-1910) in Argentina, was a central part of the objectives of the political and intellectual elite. Along with the deposit of trust that Argentine politics delegated to the School as an institution -embodied in the Pedagogical Congress of 1882, and in the sanction of Law n.° 1420 in 1884 and the consequent extension of the school network-, History as a discipline was a vehicle to argentinize the other. This work asks about the place that the Malvinas Question occupied in the process of argentinization and national identity since the end of the 19th century.
