CILENTO, Laura. Humor grotesco y arte actual en las intervenciones gráficas de George Grosz. CELEHIS [online]. 2023, n.46, pp.3-3. ISSN 2313-9463.

George Grosz (1893-1959) started his career as a visual artist during the years of First World War. As a member of Dada Club of Berlin, his work adopted some of the main claims of this vanguardist group, especially the awareness of present time and the displacement of fine arts in respect of massive and popular arts. From this point of view, his graphic production was aimed as caricaturesque, satirical and shocking, driving his aesthetic towards the complex of terror, laugh and disgust only balanced by grotesque logics. This paper selected the first period of his career, with prevailing interest in the imaginary of First World War expressed as grotesque graphic panoramas.

Palavras-chave : Grosz; humour; grotesque; dada; caricature.
