It is a well known fact that it is not possible to get directly information about jobs’ location, on the basis of Argentina’s demographic censuses. This paper develops an estimation of jobs’ location of the Metropolitan Region of Buenos Aires, using an aggregates zonification (10 zones); the year adopted is 2006. This estimation, besides the data from economic census, is based on the location of population and dwellings; specific procedures for each economic sector are designed. The results are next compared with an estimation done for 1970, and with demographic trends. The main outcome is that despite the huge descentralization of population that took place between 1970 and 2006, the employment distribution still shows a strong concentration in the area of Buenos Aires City. It still comprises more than 44 % of the employment, while it accounts nowadays for less than 22 % of population. The North sector close to Buenos Aires City shows trends which is similar to the latter.
