This work aims to understand the representations that a group of students who entered a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education in a public university from Brazil have about the training they received. It uses as an instrument of data collection an open and semi-structured questionnaire. It works with the theoretical and methodological contribution of the theory of Relation with Knowledge and Social Representations. The participants were 31 students from the fourth period of the course. It was noticed that most students expect an undergraduate course with more practical content and that they find it easier to identify what they believe to be “wrong” in the course than what is working “right”. In addition, it has been observed that it is necessary to understand the students and that perhaps the great challenge of the course, in general, is for students, with different representations, to be able to give meaning to what is taught, which many times diverges, in many cases, from the experiences prior to entering the university that they bring with them.
