This research article stems from a master's thesis which investigates the processes of subjectivation of young students who attend a school in a sport club in the city of Córdoba. The focus of the research is on the Physical Education-oriented course offered by this educational institution, which gives prominence to sport practices and to their appropriation by school members. The aim of this article is to historically contextualize the process of legitimation of the orientation in Physical Education at the high school level, to then link it to the opening of schools in sport clubs in the context of a process of expansion, fragmentation and diversification of the educational system.

In methodological terms, a socio-anthropological approach with resource to ethnographic tools are used, such as open individual interviews, field observations, review and analysis of educational standards and news in the media, among others. The results presented in this work are partial, since the thesis has not yet been completed. However, the conclusions reached point out that club schools make a differential use of sport as compared to the State institutions with orientation in Physical Education, based on the social legitimacy that the sport practices have and the opportunity to provide a distinctive educational offer within the framework of educational privatization and diversification.
