We analyze the exercise of political power by Vicente González, a key figure in mediating between the rural settlers of the Buenos Aires region through the delegation of tasks ordered by the Governor Juan Manuel de Rosas. His journey enlightens the difficult process of building a stable political order during the first half of the 19th century in the province of Buenos Aires.
