The increase in migratory flows at an international level has been constant. In the subregional area of ​​Mercosur, the population dynamics have presented variations and the block – throughout its 30 years of existence – has implemented policies that ranged from a more securitist conception to the creation of a space for the free intraregional movement of people, with a high standard of migrants’ human right protection. The objective of this thesis summary is to analyze the main strategies of Mercosur's migration policy since its origins until the development of the migratory human development model of regional integration, as a proposal aiming at achieving sustainable development, with justice and social inclusion of the peoples.
