This paper present a critique of the limitations in the postulate of the historical absence of dominant women in the egalitarian gender studies. Retrieving the symbolic and imaginary aspects circumscribed, dominant at the time about the value of women, the idea of Naturalness of female domestic performance proposes a different reading of the written sources. As a consequence, a kind of corporal discipline of women around their work should have shaped decisively the urban profile of Rosario, between 1880 and 1920.
