BARRETO, Miguel Ángel. La política habitacional argentina en perspectiva histórica: entre las buenas intenciones y las restricciones estructurales. AyP contin. [online]. 2022, vol.9, n.16, pp.9-9. ISSN 2362-6089. http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.35305/23626097v9i16.375.
Argentine housing policy has been undermined by a tension between the conceptions of social housing as a social right or as a market good since almost fifty years. After the failure of a new commodification attempted by the government of President Macri (2015-2019), the government of Frente de Todos once again promotes a housing policy more focused on social rights by means of a variety of perspectives as regards the conceptualization and approach to the problem and a greater hierarchization of the function in the government structure. The government has implemented a set of action lines with different purposes subjected to fluctuations due to political changes in authorities as well as reformulations of both health areas (because of the COVID 19 pandemic) and economic ones (as a consequence of the strong framework of restrictions imposed by external indebtedness). This article -in continuity with a saga of previous similar works reflecting on changes, ups and downs and structural restrictions- concludes with the structural challenges that lie ahead to remedy the deep housing crisis undergone by the country.
