Takingthethemeofcommunity as a commonthread, thisworkattemptstoreconstructthejointintellectualjourneythat led Friedrich Hölderlin and Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel topositthefoundationsofspeculativeidealism. Bycomparingthesources and textsofbothauthorsfrom 1794 to 1799, thisworkwillclarifytheorigin and use ofsomesharedterms, as well as therelevancetheyhadforcarryingouttheirjointprojects. Finally, wewillattempttoshowhowmanyofthe ideas presentedby Hölderlin in thevariousversionsofhis HyperionhadanimpactonHegel’sworks.
