The article proposes questions about the persistence of multiple and antagonistic representations about university reformism throughout the 20th century. The articles that make up the dossier suggest that the concept of "University Reform" quickly acquired a political use. In the words of the historian Melvin Richter (2000), it became a "properly political" notion (p. 138). That is to say, a concept that defines its meaning in the controversy and whose very meaning derives precisely from the fact of being subjected to the discussion from different positions and both ideological and identity aspects. From this point of view, the present dossier aims to explore some of these representations, appropriations and political uses.
