This study focuses on the analysis of a central figure of the government of the Puna region, in the province of Jujuy, between 1825 and 1853: the subdelegates. From that basis it is proposed to establish a channel of dialogue with other experiences of the type in Argentina and with the influence of the Cortes of Cádiz and the Cadiz constitution of 1812. Issues related to ownership, territorialization, fragmentation and representation of sovereignties are studied. Two key moments in the performance of this magistracy in the Puna are analyzed: first, conflicts with the Jujuy cabildo during the 1820 decade and, second, the gravitation of the federal system in the 1840s.
