ADAMINI, Marina. Segmentation and labor degradation behind the productive growth of the software sector. An approach based on the case of Tandil IT workers. Trab. soc. [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.38, pp.291-311. Epub 01-Jan-2022. ISSN 1514-6871.
This article analyzes working conditions in the Software and Computer Services sector (SCS), based on the case of the Polo Informático Tandil (PIT). Part of recognizing a process of labor degradation, which occurs in a segmented way, in the absence of a regulatory framework - Collective Labour Agreement (CLA) - that regulates the working conditions of the sector in a collective way. This deregulated situation is conditioned, to a large extent, by the lack of formal recognition of any of the unions in the sector to represent the informatics in collective bargaining instances. Thus, behind the strong productive growth of the SCS sector, there is a process of labor precariousness that occurs in a segmented way among workers, in terms of absence of collective negotiation of salaries, prolonged and intense working hours, unpaid extra-day work, anti-union business actions, among others. Our methodology focused on the qualitative approach to the working conditions of informatics, as a case study, based on conducting in-depth interviews with workers, businessmen and unions, the documentary approach of CLA and journalistic sources referred to PIT case.
